That’s a WRAP! Chef Matt Accarrino, Executive Chef for SPQR Restaurant in San Francisco, California just wrapped a video shoot for our new BPA-Free line of Foodservice solutions.
The video shoot is a collaboration between Rubbermaid Commercial Products and Eastman Chemical Company. Chef Accarrino has been using the BPA-Free products to help us test the durability of the food contact products to see how they live-up to the demands of a busy commercial kitchen.
Another year, another successful NRA in Chicago! The RCP booth was abuzz with activity from Day One and we couldn’t have done it without the customers, media, fans and show attendees that stopped by to check out our products and chat with our industry experts. From the first drop of the sledgehammer in the Extreme Product Demonstration, our booth visitors were able to view and demo our new BPA-Free product line, engage our product experts to discuss front and back of house best practices and solutions and meet our celebrity chef and BPA-Free advocate, Chef Matt Accarrino of SPQR in San Francisco.
We were thrilled to be involved with the NRA event Restaurant Rocks party on Sunday evening where all proceeds benefited ProStart. LaSalle Power Company rocked until well after midnight with live music, dueling pianos, mixology experts and TV stars from Top Chef hosts Spike Mendelsohn, Richard Blais, and Fabio Viviani.
Thank you again to the NRA team and all the great people we met in Chicago! Don’t forget – there’s still time to win $1,000 worth of BPA-Free foodservice products! Just tweet @rubbermaidcomm using #RCPBPAFree and tell us why you want to go BPA-Free in your kitchen. See you next year!
With all this talk about BPA-Free at NRA 2012, we grabbed a few minutes with Dr. David Porter of Eastman Chemical Company, our trusted partner in the creation of the BPA-Free foodservice product line, to get the low-down on what actually goes into creating a BPA-Free product that is durable, sustainable and the highest quality possible.
RCP created the revolutionary product line in collaboration with Eastman Chemical Company using its Tritan™ copolyester, a material free of Bisphenol A (BPA) which was introduced to the market in 2007. Tritan copolyester is a clear, tough, chemical resistant material and provides extreme performance in the kitchen standing up to harsh conditions.
RCP and the Eastman Research & Development teams have been hard at work since 2001 in developing this product and are proud to launch the industry’s first-ever BPA-Free commercial foodservice product line! Check out Susan Spalding’s chat with Dr. Porter to hear more about the process.
Bill Prentice from Green Restaurant Association (GRA) gave us this certificate, announcing that Rubbermaid Commercial Products are officially listed in their Green Product Guide. This guide helps restaurants ensure to buy green products, which their customers prefer. In fact, according to GRA, 79% of consumers prefer to dine at certified green restaurants.
With our new line of BPA-free food storage products, we are continuing to provide solutions for our restaurant partners and distributors.
